I don't remember who asked me this, but here are the top ten downloaded songs of Joan Baez:

1. Diamonds and Rust
2. The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down (originally by Robbie Robertson)
3. Forever Young (Dylan wrote this originally)
4. Amazing Grace (originally by John Newton in 1722)
5. Love is Just a Four-Letter Word (also by Dylan - she has a whole album of Dylan songs)
6. Please Come to Boston (by Dave Loggins)
7. Where Have All the Flowers Gone? (by Pete Seeger)
8. House of the Rising Sun (American folk song - no one knows who originally wrote it)
9. Imagine (by John Lennon, obviously)
10. Barbara Allen (Scottish folk song)

So, in conclusion, the reason that you don't know many songs by Joan Baez is that they are almost all traditional folk songs or covers.

Also, I finally found my Raging Waters CD.

Does anybody know what Dad wants for his birthday?

Ok kids, I wanna go to a Red Sox game again this year.

Who wants to go with? I can get up to 8 tickets for either the July 13th or 20th, which are Friday evening games, but I will have to get them very soon. Jean and John, that'd be your birthday present, everyone else, it'd be $50. The other Friday night games would be $70, and I can't really swing that (ha ha).

There IS an option to go on September 28th, which would only be $40, but that seems like an awfully long wait for one's birthday present.

Hi guys, I was wondering if you could post a comment about what you would most like that could be purchased for under $5. Keep in mind that I have good access to used book and CD stores.

I'll start. Here is what I like: Books on tape, any Leonard Cohen music other than "The Songs of Leonard Cohen" because I already have that, mix tapes or cds, and really boring medium-sized second hand shirts. Bonus if you can buy three long-sleeved black shirts for under $5. They can't be ugly. I also enjoy many types of food.

Hey guys, I just finished "A Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time" or whatever the title was. I think you should now tell me what dad said after he finished the book. About halfway through, I started getting particularly curious. I forget whether it was Liz or Elena who said it.

Jeannie, hope London is spectacular. Let us know how it is.

Soooo, what are we doing on the 16th? I kinda want to give up eating out for a month, and I wanna start Friday, so if we could do something that doesn't involve purchasing food, awesome. If food is too important to give up, I'll start my eating-out-hiatus on the 17th.
